It must be said that Ximeta used an 80 gig Western Digital drive. I have had nothing but trouble with Western Digital. On the other hand, IBM (now Hitachi) has been damn near flawless for me. I have an old 4 gig I have put through hell that still works like new when I need it. Seagate has been pretty close. -
You can't say "decaf" and "coffee" in the same sentence. It just isn't right. -
My Ximeta NAS drive also died, from heat I believe. I kept intermittently losing connections until it finally gave up entirely. The drive spins, and is recognized by a PC if I mount it directly, but data is unreadable (partition defect). Estimates for data recovery are like $700. Ouch. (...) -

I'm still worried about that. There were reports early on that we would be paying it back on next year's returns. Then the IRS said no, that would not happen. What's to keep that from changing? -
